Camelot, the company that is responsible for administering the United Kingdom’s Nation Lottery, has announced that it will be increasing the price of lottery tickets to £2. This increase will take effect at the beginning of October.
This increase is being made in hopes it will increase interest by being able to offer larger jackpots to those within the U.K. Many of those who purchase tickets on a regular basis are not happy with the decision and have turned to the Nation Lottery Facebook page in order to vent their displeasure with the announcement with many claiming they will no longer play.
The increase in ticket prices is expected to see prizes increase to £25 for matching three numbers and will increase jackpots to £5 million for the weekend draws and £2.5 for draws held during the week. While on the grand scale of lottery jackpots this is small it still is good value for the cost of the tickets and hopeful that the results will be positive as people begin to see the increase payouts.
